Do Chemetall´s cesium salts contain radioactive isotopes?
No. According to CRC Handbook of Chemistry and Physics 73th ed., there are 51 known isotopes of cesium. Among these, however, only one isotope is listed as naturally occurring. This isotope is Cs-133 with a natural occurrence of 100 %. The isotope is stable and does not show a radioactive decay mode. Since our products are prepared from a natural source, namely pollucite, they exclusively contain nonradioactive Cs-133.
What is your position on the oral consumption of cesium salts?
Chemetall is a supplier and distributor of cesium salts for certain commercial and industrial purposes. Our salts are not sold for human consumption. We have recently become aware of internet publications recommending the use of cesium salts in cancer therapy and specifically suggesting that such salts be taken orally for that purpose. We have no knowledge, information or medical research that would support the use of cesium salts as a treatment for cancer or any other disease. Nor do we have knowledge, information or medical research to suggest that the human consumption of cesium salts is even safe, much less effective for any purpose. Indeed, our salts have not been tested and released for human consumption at all. We therefore strongly discourage anyone from ingesting these salts or otherwise using them as a treatment for cancer or any other condition.
I asked for a CoA with my delivery, but I received an "Inspection Certificate". Why?
We issue analytical certificates based on the European norm EN 10 204. The term CoA - Certificate of Analysis - is not included in this norm and therefore generally not used by us. We prefer "Inspection Certificate", which is the equivalent of a CoA in EN 10 204. So it is just a question of how to name the certificate, you nevertheless obtained the specific analytical data you requested. By the way - the respective certificates issued in German are called "Abnameprüfzeugnis", the French ones "Certificat de Réception".
